Filters are a powerful tool on Upwave boards to help you focus on the cards that matter most. You can filter by assignee, due dates, text, color, subtasks, comments, and attachments. Here’s how you can use filters effectively:

Applying Filters

Access the filter menu by opening the board and clicking on the filter icon in the top-right corner.

Choose your filters

  • Assignee: Select a board member to view only the cards assigned to them.

Quicktip: Press Ctrl+M to quickly apply a filter on the cards with yourself as the assignee. When this filter is active, any new cards you create will automatically be assigned to you.

  • Due Dates: Pick a date or date range to see cards with due dates within that period.

  • Text: Search for keywords or phrases in card titles or descriptions to find specific cards quickly.

  • Color: Select a color to display cards matching that label.

  • Subtasks, Comments, Attachments: Tick the checkboxes to filter for cards that have any subtasks, comments, or attachments.

The board will update instantly, showing only the cards that match your selected filters.

Filters and Creating Cards

  • Assignee and Color Filters

When active, these will automatically apply to new cards. For example, if you filter for “Blue” and assign “Alex” the new card will inherit these settings.

  • Text, Subtasks, Due dates, Comments, and Attachments Filters

If these are active, new cards that are created won’t appear immediately because they don’t meet the filter criteria. To see your new cards, deactivate the filter.

Clearing Filters

To view all cards again

1. Click the filter icon.

2. Deselect any active filters or click Clear All.
