Boards vs Teams

A Board is a shared canvas where board members can collaborate on projects, tasks, ideas, issues etc. You can view a board with cards as a digital whiteboard with post-its. All changes on a Board are instantly visible to all participants in real-time.

In Upwave, users can collaborate in multiple, separate teams, within the same organization workspace. You can create teams for different departments, project groups, external suppliers etc. To get access to Teams you need a Business or Enterprise subscription.

Your first Board

After creating your workspace, this is the first screen you will see. To create your first board, simply click on the "New board" button. This will allow you to start completely from scratch, or use one of our already made templates!

Your first Team

To create your first team, you first need to start a Business or Enterprise subscription.
Go to your dashboard, and click on the "Teams" tab. Here you will find an overview of the Teams in your Workspace. To create your first Team, click on the button "New team".

Choose name, colour and visibility for your team. A team can either be private (only visible to people invited to the team) or Workspace visible (visible to everyone inside the workspace).

From the team page, you can see all Team Boards in that team, invite members, create new Team Boards and change the Team settings. Click on the Workspace icon in the left corner to go to your dashboard.

Create your first Team Board
When you have created a Team, you can start creating Team Boards inside that Team and inviting Team members.

Create a board by clicking on the "New board" button and choose one of our many pre-made templates! You can now start adding Cards. Customize the board by selecting a background and adding colours.

To go back to your Team page from a board, click on the Team name under the Board title.
