There are three main hierarchical levels in Upwave:

A Workspace is typically one organization. Inside your workspace you can create boards and teams, depending on which subscription plan you are on.

A Team can be any type of subset of members and work. For example an organizational department (HR, management, production etc.) or a project. Organizing your workspace in teams is useful when you have a company of a certain size, so you don't lose the overview. How you use teams will depend on the size of your organization, and the nature of your work. Sometimes a team is permanent (such as a HR department), and at other times it is temporary, such as a project. Teams are only available to Business and Enterprise users.

A Board is a shared canvas where board members can collaborate on projects, tasks, ideas, issues etc. There are two types of boards in Upwave; Board and Team Board. What types of boards you have access to depend on your subscription plan.

A regular Board is not attached to a team. When you create a regular Board it will be private and only visible to you, unless you choose to invite members or move the board into a team. Regular Boards are available to all Upwave users.

A Team board is attached to a specific team. When you create a Team Board, you can choose the visibility of the board to be either private or team visible. Team boards are only available to users on a Business or Enterprise plan.
